Packard Bell Information

Since the 1920s, Packard Bell has been an influential manufacturer of radios and TVs. Early on, Packard Bell expanded by producing electronics for military applications. By 1961, Packard Bell developed one of the very first personal computers known as the PB 250. Specializing in computers, monitors, high-tech printers and peripherals, Packard Bell was bought-out by NEC in the late 1990s, followed by Acer in 2008. Today, Acer markets Packard Bell printers, computers and consumer electronics, along with other subsidiary brands.

In 1926, Herbert Bell and Leon Packard established a corporation in Los Angeles to manufacture radios for the West Coast market. Quickly expanding to televisions and electronics for military purposes, Packard Bell became a household name synonymous with high-quality consumer goods, although erroneously associated with other multinational corporations, including HP, Packard and Bell. With the company's reputation as a radio manufacturer, Packard Bell lived up to its corporate tag line, "America grew up listening to us."

As a defense contractor for the U.S. government, Teledyne made a strategic take-over of Packard Bell in 1978. By 1986, the company changed hands again, when entrepreneur Beny Alagem and a group of Israeli investors purchased Packard Bell and launched a brand of highly successful IBM-compatible clones marketed through major department stores. Originally, Packard Bell was targeting the North American market for printers and computers. However, the company established a worldwide following with strong sales of personal computers, laptops, laser printers, and toner cartridges in Europe and South America.

Packard Bell printers and fax machines are compatible with a number of remanufactured and OEM cartridges. Consumers can save even more by opting for ink and toner refill kits. With bulk ink, your office can purchase ink and toner by the kilo to maximize savings and minimize the printing budget. Whether you are shopping for remanufactured toner cartridges for a PB 9500 printer or refill kits for a FAX 200 model, ink refills result in dramatic savings. To ensure quality, each remanufactured printer and toner cartridge is tested for complete functionality. When compared to toner cartridges from the original equipment manufacturer or a compatible name brand, remanufactured cartridges and ink refill kits provide the same quality results for a fraction of the price.

Consumers today do not have to compromise print quality to save money on toner cartridges and ink refills. With ink refills and toner cartridges that are compatible with all Packard Bell printers, replacing or refilling toner cartridges is never costly or time consuming. By reusing and refilling old cartridges, more plastic is recycled, and replacement cartridges can be priced more economically. Switching to affordable ink refills or remanufactured ink cartridges is the easiest way to make printing more economical and eco-friendly.
