Olivetti Information

Known for producing the iconic red typewriter used by beloved cartoon character Snoopy, the Italian typewriter, printer and computer manufacturer Olivetti is renowned for its cutting-edge technology and legendary modern designs. With a permanent collection of industrial-modern equipment housed in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City since the 1950s, Olivetti has transcended practical engineering to produce state of the art equipment with ergonomic, user-friendly designs as advanced as the technology inside. In the new millennium, Olivetti revived its computer and telecommunications division, becoming one of the world leaders in laser printers, fax machines, thermal printers and business printing solutions for the retail and banking markets.

Established in 1908 by Camillo Olivetti, the Italian typewriter manufacturer grew tremendously under the founder's son Adriano Olivetti. Always on the cutting-edge, Olivetti expanded from the typewriter market by introducing a line of powered calculators in 1948. One decade later, the company launched the first Italian-manufactured mainframe computer, which was followed by one of the first commercially available PCs, Programma 101, in 1965. Olivetti remained a major PC and electronics manufacturer through 1997, launching an IMB clone in 1982 and followed by a multimedia computer in the mid-1990s, which failed due to the advanced concept.

With increasing competition from U.S. manufacturers and Asian tech companies, Olivetti was forced to sell many of its core business divisions. Following a total restructuring in the late 1990s that included a corporate buy-out, Olivetti made a surprising bid for Telecom Italia, which is Italy's largest phone company, as the first step on the path to transitioning from typewriters and computers to telecommunications. After recovering from debt due to the rocky merger with Telecom Italia, Olivetti restructured once again, using corporate investments to re-launch the Linea Office brand.

Today, Olivetti's Linea Office line includes computers, laptops, fax machines and printers intended for professionals and small business owners. With contemporary lines, Linea Office products, developed by British designer Jasper Morrison, embody the brand's form and function-conscious style. With a complete range of color and monochrome printers available, Olivetti distributes a broad range of ink, toner and cartridges for copy machines, printers and Olivetti office equipment. For the corporate office or home office, Olivetti printers are designed to produce high-quality results.

By switching to bulk refills for ink and toner printers, your office can reduce the printing budget and overall environmental impact. Ink refill kits and bulk ink are great for minimizing printing costs. With a refill kit, your office can keep reusing the same cartridge, saving you money and reducing the number of empty cartridges sent to landfills. For savings and convenience, switch to remanufactured Olivetti cartridges for the same compatibility and premium performance.
