Cheap Ink Cartridges
When cheap printers first began appearing on store shelves, people were thrilled. A quality machine for under $100? Who ever thought that such low prices would be possible? And, in the case of these printers, cheap didn't mean flimsy, or low quality, or any of the other negative connotations associated with the word. Nope. Instead, these inexpensive printers produced sharp, crisp images and text using the printer ink cartridge that was included free of charge. We all thought printing had become affordable. But when that tiny ink cartridge ran out of ink and we returned to the store for a replacement, cheap ink cartridges for our cheap printers were nowhere to be found.
For years, we were forced to purchase costly ink cartridges manufactured by Canon, Epson, Lexmark, and HP, the same companies who sold us our printers. And slowly, we began to believe that cheap ink cartridges just didn't exist. That changed, however, when compatible ink cartridges (also known as generic ink cartridges) came into existence. Remanufactured cartridges (used OEM cartridges that are refilled) resulted in savings for consumers too, and also prevented many cartridges from entering landfills. Online stores began selling them, and they even found their way into the big department and office supplies stores. Finally, cheap ink cartridges were widely available.
The companies that produce OEM cartridges would like us to believe that these cheap ink cartridges are inferior to their brand name products. Some people initially believed that the ink was not the same high quality stuff found in more expensive products. Other common rumors about cheap ink cartridges were that the print quality wasn't as good, they didn't last as long as more expensive products, and they often caused damage to printers. In short, people assumed that paying more guaranteed they were getting a superior product, and vice versa.
Slowly but surely, the truth about cheap ink cartridges began to emerge. People decided to try them out, and they discovered that they were identical in almost every way to OEM cartridges. Cheap ink cartridges produced printouts of equal quality, lasted just as long, were just as easy to use, and did not, as many people believed, cause printers to mysteriously stop working.
Since cheap ink cartridges are comparable in most respects to pricier brands, there is really no reason not to take advantage of the lower prices you'll find when you explore PrinterInk.com. Department stores carry cheap ink cartridges, but some online outlets can deliver even bigger savings, so it definitely pays to shop around. Whether you want to do your part to help the environment, save money, or simply send a message to the huge corporations that have charged us too much for printer ink cartridges for too long, buying cheap ink cartridges (either compatible cartridges or remanufactured cartridges) is the way to go.
